You are hereby invited to submit papers for the ECMDA-FA 2006 conference.
Model-Driven Architecture® (MDA®) is an initiative proposed by the Object Management Group (OMG, http://www.omg.org/) for platform-generic software development. It promotes the use of models in the specification, design, analysis, synthesis, deployment, and evolution of complex software systems.
ECMDA-FA is dedicated to furthering the state of knowledge and fostering the industrialisation of the MDA methodology. Its focus is on engaging the key European research and industrial figures in a dialogue which will result in a stronger, more efficient industry, producing more reliable software on the basis of state-of-the-art research results.
The conference is organised in two tracks of interest dealing with the foundations and applications of MDA. There will be additional workshops, a consultancy corner, and tools exhibitions on these subjects.

ECMDA-FA 2006 is the second ECMDA conference. The program and proceedings of the first ECMDA conference held in Nuremberg, Germany can be found on http://www.ecmda-fa.org/history.shtml.
ECMDA-FA has two separate paper tracks, one for academic papers (track F) and one for industrial papers (track A). Both tracks will be judge differently. The academic track will be reviewed using common academic review guidelines. Papers in the industrial track may be shorter and will be judged against special guidelines, as described below.
In Track F (Foundations of MDA), we are soliciting papers presenting original research on all aspects of MDA. Typical but not exclusive topics of interest are:
The length of the papers should be between 12 and 15 pages A4 size. They will be judged on novelty and theoretical contribution. No simultaneous submission to other publication outlets (either a conference or a journal) is allowed. The proceedings will be published in a Springer LNCS volume.
In Track A (Applications of MDA), we are soliciting papers representing the views and experiences of industrial players in MDA. In particular, we look for papers which set requirements on the foundations and tools for MDA. Papers in all application areas of MDA are welcome, but may focus on one the following application areas.
The length of an industrial paper should be between 6 and 12 pages. Track A papers will be judged on practical feasibility, maturity and industrial relevance. No simultaneous submission to other publication outlets (either a conference or a journal) is allowed. The proceedings will be published in the same volume as the proceedings of the Foundations track.
Submissions should be made through the electronic submission system that will be made available on http://ecmda-fa.org/.
Researchers and practitioners interested in organising a satellite workshop in the context of ECMDA are invited to submit proposals on topics related to the conference. For a full list of relevant topics see the conference site (http://ecmda-fa.org/).
The purpose of the workshops is to provide participants a forum for presenting novel ideas, and to discuss them in a small and interactive atmosphere.
Responsibility for the format and organisation of each workshop rests with the submitters of the workshop proposal, but the ECMDA conference organisers will provide rooms, audio-visual equipment and other logistical support.
The workshop proposals will be selected by the workshop chair, under advice of the ECMDA steering committee.
