==== Overview ====

The past decade has witnessed an explosion of interest in advanced techniques
for keeping abstract models of complex software systems in sync with the
underlying code. Domain specific languages, model-driven engineering, model
transformations, and standardization of modeling languages are among the more
significant emerging trends. MoDELS 2006 is the premier conference that
brings together practitioners and researchers to present and discuss both
practical experience and innovative techniques in model-driven approaches to
software development. MoDELS 2006 will include both scientific and experience
conference papers, workshops, tutorials, a doctoral symposium and poster

==== Topics of interest ====

**Scientific papers:** We invite scientific research papers describing innovative
research on model-driven engineering and other aspects of modeling in the
development process. This also includes well-designed empirical studies and
innovative automation solutions and tool architectures.

**Experience papers:** We invite experience papers that focus on reporting
project experience with model-driven engineering. These papers should
describe the project context, detail practical lessons learned, and provide
insight about how model-driven approaches and technologies can be improved
for application in an industrial context.

The conference will include papers and presentations on many of the

Submit your manuscript electronically in Postscript or PDF using the Springer
LNCS style: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html

Papers must be no longer than 15 pages in length (including references,
appendices etc.). Papers will undergo a thorough process of review by a
program committee comprising leading experts from academia and industry;
however, papers that are too long may be rejected without review. Scientific
proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS series. All
papers must be original, unpublished, and not submitted simultaneously for
publication elsewhere.

Authors of best papers from the conference will be invited to revise and
submit extended versions of their papers for publication consideration in a
special issue of Software and Systems Modeling (Springer).
